Suitable for Energy Storage! Group Standard Release of Carbon Footprint Quantification Methods and Requirements for Greenhouse Gas Products Lithium Ion Batteries
Recently, China Electronic Quality Management Association released the group standard T/CQAE 12002-2024 "carbon footprint quantification methods and requirements for greenhouse gas products lithium ion batteries", which is drafted by Huawei Digital Energy, ningde era, Haichen energy storage, Ningde new energy, Chuangxin airlines, Guoxuan Gaoke, Zhuhai Guanyu, Sunwoda, paineng technology, Desai battery, BYD, Weilan new energy, honeycomb energy, Zhongdian new energy. The standard will be implemented from December 27, 2024.
It is reported that this standard proposes a unified method and requirement for carbon footprint quantification of lithium ion battery products, which can fill the gap in the industry, guide enterprises to independently carry out carbon footprint accounting, and strengthen the carbon management of products throughout the life cycle. At the same time, it will also guide the green transformation and upgrading of China's battery industry and consolidate the low-carbon foundation of the whole chain of lithium-ion batteries.
This standard specifies lithium ion battery and battery pack methods and requirements of carbon footprint quantification of products, including quantitative purpose, quantitative scope, inventory analysis, impact assessment, result interpretation, carbon footprint report, carbon footprint statement, etc., are applicable to consumption, small power, energy storage lithium ion batteries and battery packs are not suitable for power lithium ion batteries and battery packs for electric vehicles. Examples of applications that fall within the scope of this document are as follows:
consumption: mobile phones, tablets, laptops, wearable devices, etc;
small power type: electric bicycle, electric balance car, electric scooter, etc., the rated energy of the battery pack is usually not more than 5 kWh;
energy storage type: household energy storage, industrial and commercial energy storage, electric energy storage, etc.
