Rechargeable battery and its Components (Certain Rechargeable Batteries and Components Thereof) infringe their patent rights, requesting to initiate 337 investigation and issue limited exclusion and prohibition orders. 13 companies in the United States, China and Canada were involved.

It is understood that the so-called 337 investigation means that according to the 1930 Tariff Law of the United States, the United States International Trade Commission can initiate investigations and take sanctions against unfair acts in import trade. In practice, most of the 337 investigations involving infringement of American intellectual property rights are aimed at patent or trademark infringement, while a few investigations also involve infringement of copyright, industrial design and integrated circuit layout design. According to historical data, the probability that Chinese enterprises are finally identified as not infringing in the 337 investigation is only about 5.2%.
