On September 20, 2024, the 9th Western energy storage Forum and Xinjiang energy storage technology innovation system construction seminar were held in Urumqi, Xinjiang.

Shi Yubo, chairman of China Energy Research Association, said at the meeting that the western region is the national energy strategic base, which is new energy storage large-scale development provides a variety of application scenarios. It is of great significance for serving the high-quality development of new energy in western China and supporting the modernization of Chinese-style energy to deeply discuss the new ideas of the integration and development of new energy and energy storage in western China represented by Xinjiang.

In addition, Shi Yubo put forward four thoughts and suggestions in combination with the integration and development of energy storage and renewable energy.

First, strengthen policy guidance and support, reduce investment costs, improve project profitability, and establish and improve the market-oriented trading mechanism of energy storage projects;
