With the popularization and development of electric vehicles, power lithium battery life Management and secondary utilization have become a topic of great concern. This paper will discuss the echelon utilization and energy storage application of electric vehicle lithium battery, in order to provide some ideas and references for the research and practice in related fields.

  1. Echelon utilization of power lithium battery

(1) reuse after a battery is retired: after the power lithium battery is used in electric vehicles for a period of time, it is no longer suitable as a power source because the capacity drops to a certain extent. However, these retired batteries can still be used as energy storage capacity utilization, such as energy storage systems and photovoltaic energy storage. Through the reproduction and reassembly of these batteries, the service life of these batteries can be effectively prolonged and the reuse of resources can be realized.

(2) technical challenges of secondary battery utilization: the reuse of power lithium battery faces some technical challenges, including accurate evaluation of battery life, battery reproduction and assembly technology, as well as the requirements for the safety and performance of the secondary utilization battery system, etc. Relevant researchers and enterprises are actively exploring these technical challenges in order to realize the cascade utilization of power lithium batteries.

  1. Energy storage application of power lithium battery

(2) photovoltaic energy storage: combined with photovoltaic power generation system, power lithium battery can be used as energy storage equipment to store electric energy when solar energy is unavailable, release electric energy when needed, and improve the self-sufficiency and reliability of photovoltaic system. The high energy density and long cycle life of power lithium battery make it an ideal choice for photovoltaic energy storage system.

(3) micro-grid application: in micro-grid system, power lithium battery can be used as the main energy storage equipment to balance the difference between supply and demand of micro-grid system and improve the autonomy and reliability of micro-grid. By reasonably configuring the capacity and output power of power lithium battery, it can meet the demand of microgrid system for energy storage.

The Echelon utilization and energy storage application of electric vehicle power lithium battery are of great significance, which can not only prolong the service life of battery and reduce the cost of energy storage system, but also effectively utilize resources and realize sustainable development.
