A Total of 261MW/903mwh! Invenergy Deploys 11 Energy Storage Projects in Arizona
According to foreign media reports, Invenergy, an independent American power producer, opened and operated a 50MW/200MWh battery energy storage system in the suburb of Phoenix, Arizona, the battery energy storage system called El Sol energy storage center is the 10th battery energy storage system operated by the company in the state.
Invenergy all energy storage projects operated by the company are located in marcoppa County and Yuma County, Arizona, and have signed power purchase agreements with public utilities manufacturer Arizona Public Service Company (APS).
Brian Cole, vice president of resource management of Arizona Public Service Corporation (APS), commented, "Arizona experienced high temperature opening this summer, and our customers consumed record energy when running air conditioners to cool down. Adding renewable energy projects such as El Sol energy storage center to the diversified energy facilities of Arizona Public Service Corporation (APS) will help us continue to provide customers with the reliable, affordable and cleaner energy, especially in hot summer."
the following table shows all battery energy storage projects operated by company Invenergy in Arizona, including the commercial operation date (COD), and 10 battery energy storage systems have been activated, the company is deploying the 11th battery energy storage project Yuma battery energy storage system in the state will also be launched this year.
The scale of 10 energy storage projects that have been operated is 191MW/623MWh, while the scale of the largest Yuma battery energy storage system that will be put into operation is 70MW/280MWh, so as to make the energy storage combination scale operated by Invenergy company reach 261MW/903MWh.
The company also has battery energy storage projects under operation and construction in Illinois, Wisconsin, West Virginia, New York and Iowa. The company lists 20 energy storage projects covering American states and different stages on its website.
Battery Energy Storage for the purpose of the system, SRP has signed a power purchase agreement for a 250MW/1000MWh energy storage project. Both battery energy storage systems will be put into operation in 2026.
